Dempsey Kingsland Osteen has a long record of success in medical malpractice, catastrophic personal injury and wrongful death cases. We are fortunate to have two distinguished medical professionals, Jane O’Shaughnessy, MD and Cathy Brown, RN, as our medical consultants. Both work exclusively for Dempsey Kingsland Osteen and have done so for more than 20 years. Dr. O’Shaughnessy and Nurse Brown assist us in evaluating and preparing our medical malpractice cases and catastrophic injury cases from beginning to end. Their expertise ensures that we have command of all the applicable medicine and helps us maximize the value of our cases.

Jane O’Shaughnessy, M.D.

Jane Oshaughnessy MDJane O’Shaughnessy, M.D. has been Dempsey Kingsland Osteen’s physician consultant since 1999. Dr. O’Shaughnessy has had a long and distinguished career, with over 25 years of active clinical practice. She was Chairperson of the Dept. of Emergency Medicine at St. Vincent’s S.I. — a high-volume trauma center in New York City — for 17 years and currently holds a faculty position at the New Jersey College of Medicine.

Dr. O’Shaughnessy has evaluated hundreds of medical malpractice cases for Dempsey Kingsland Osteen in a broad range of medical topics and is available to the firm from first review through settlement or trial. Dr. O’Shaughnessy also consults with us on any complex medical issues that arise in our catastrophic injury cases.

Dr. O’Shaughnessy earned her medical degree at St. Louis University. She is board certified in internal medicine and is a Lifetime Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians.

At one time, Dr. O’Shaughnessy was in charge of 9-1-1 emergency service for New York City.

Ashley Wooten Holmes, MBA-HCA, BSN, RN, CCTC

Ashley Woodward Holmes, BSN, RN, MBA-HCA, CCTC

Ashley Wooten Holmes, MBA-HCA, BSN, RN, CCTC, is a Nurse Consultant with Dempsey Kingsland Osteen.

She has over 20 years of nursing experience, including emergency care, thoracic surgery, transplant medicine, and nursing management.

Before becoming a registered nurse, Nurse Holmes worked in nursing homes, assisted living facilities, memory care, and a long-term acute care hospital. She is a Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator through the American Board for Transplant Certification and has progressive leadership experience in both clinical and administrative settings.
